SUBANG JAYA: Traffic was smooth flowing yesterday along Persiaran Putra Bahagia and Jalan Putra Perdana, after the mudflow that hit the area a week ago. All the roads leading to the area have been reopened to traffic. The roads have also been cleared of soil and mud. Sand bags have been put along Persiaran Putra Bahagia to prevent an overflow of mud.
The only area that looked a little muddy was the stretch along Jalan Putra Perdana, as a layer of mud was still evident along the walkway in front of the Putra Heights police station.
The Subang Jaya Muncipal Council (MPSJ) had issued a stop-work order to the developer Kingsley Hills Sdn Bhd last week and the stop-work order still stands.
When contacted, Kingsley Hills Sdn Bhd business development and corporate communication manager Grace Tan Pei Ling declined to comment on the status of the landslide that hit Putra Heights. She had said that the adjusters, Cunningham Lindsey Adjusters (M) Sdn Bhd, and its insurance company, Etiqa Insurance Bhd are still conducting an audit.
In the Jan 3 evening incident, mud from the construction site of the 39ha mixed development overflowed onto the road 20 metres away, burying five cars and a van. No one was injured during the incident.
The landslide had entered the retention pond nearby which caused the pond to break.
